JO ANN JARREAU

Jo Ann is a Senior Landscape Architect with Jenna Bayer Garden Design. She grew up on a research farm at Louisiana State University’s Burden Museum and Gardens near Baton Rouge, LA, where her father was the research supervisor. Surrounded by beautifully tended flower gardens and wild bayous and swamps, she would catch baby alligators and make them pets. This love of nature and horticulture inspired Jo Ann to complete a five-year B.S. in Landscape Architecture from LSU. Since graduating, Jo Ann has gained over 40 years of experience working in Louisiana, Texas, Colorado, California and Alabama, where she holds professional LA licenses. She has worked for local, state, and federal government agencies, private industry, and had her own company in Houston, TX, for over 20 years. Her experience includes sustainable, green-build and LEED®-compliant landscapes, master planning, design, project management, and construction. She has worked on numerous residential, corporate and commercial, school and university, public park, transportation corridor, and urban redevelopment projects. Jo Ann’s approach is to assist clients in all phases of their project, from conceptual to finalization, and to employ innovative and aesthetic designs to enhance the beauty of any project site. Jo Ann enjoys traveling with her husband for adventures that involve viewing natural landscapes and interesting gardens and architecture.
